Everyday is a day to Enjoy life!

Every day is a day to feel blessed for what you have. Be thankful for where and who you are, and what you have.

I was really bad at this for a long time. My husband would always to tell me "Bloom where you're planted" and it took me a long time to really understand it.

Your life might not be what you had planned, but you need to enjoy where you are. There is a quote by John Lennon that said " Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans." This is so true!

I know from experience, that you cannot wait for things to go right to start enjoying life. You need to enjoy life in small moments when you can. You may be dealing with illnesses, debt, high levels of stress, or a million other things that life constantly throws your way. If you wait until next week when you’re not so busy, your legacy will be a lifetime of putting things off until… forever.

"And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years."
-Abraham Lincoln

If you're too busy, and always stressing about what you need to do and trying to finish it, you'll die a stressed, tired, miserable person wondering why you didn't take more time to just enjoy life.

Have you ever listened to the words to "The Cat's In The Cradle"?

If you keep putting off things in life until your finished your work, or this load of dishes etc, you'll never be finished and years will pass with a blink.

CleanHome© is not about having a sparkling shiny floor you can eat off of, and a house that can pass the white glove dust test!

CleanHome© is about helping you manage the stuff that needs to be done every day, in order to help you learn to relax and have time to enjoy life.

If I waited until my living room was completely clean to exercise to my DVD workout, I'd still be 30 pounds heavier then I am. If I put off my kids begging me to play with them because I always have things to catch up with, they'll be 12 by the time I'm finished and ready to play, and by then they'll be too busy with other things to have time for me.

If you don't take breaks and learn to decompress and relax, WHILE your working on things, you'll be so stressed you won't know how to relax and enjoy life when your finished.

These are the things I have learned.

CleanHome has designated each day of the week to be a day to do something to enjoy life. You can follow them or make your own Enjoy Life Daily Plan.

Monday Is Motivational Meeting Day

At CleanHome©, the Motivational Monday Meeting is like a weekly morale meeting you'd have if you worked in a large company.

An online meeting where you can get together with other CleanHome Executives and talk about how you're doing, where you're at, share your success and get ideas from other CleanHome Executives if you're just starting out.

Don't worry if you can't or don't want to attend the meeting at all or every week. It is not mandatory. Just remember that hearing from others who are in similar situations can be a great support and help keep you motivated.

If the meeting is not your "cup of tea" then consider other things that would help motivate you to stay on track. Go browse an organize-it store, or a store like Ikea for ideas and inspiration! Whatever you need to stay motivated as a CleanHome Executive.

Tuesday Is Special Kid Day

Tuesday is Special Kid Day in our home. You can make it Special Kid Day in your home too. We rotate between both kids and each Tuesday we have a meal that that child likes, or we do a fun activity that that child likes to do.

This is a special way to make your children feel loved, since in a busy home with many kids, we can often not have enough hands and time for each child when they need us.

Special Kid Day could be as simple as a small gift from the dollar store left on that child's pillow or bedside table for when they wake up or go to bed that day.

Wednesday is Hobby or pamper yourself day

All too often we let ourselves as CleanHome Executives be last on our list. Today is a day to love you. Spend some time on a hobby or craft, or pampering yourself with getting your nails done, or having a bubble bath before bed.

Do something special for yourself today.

Thursday is call/visit a friend day

Got a friend you've been meaning to call or go out with for coffee, but keep forgetting or get too busy? Take time today to cultivate your friendships and catch up with your friends. Let them know they are special to you.

Friday is Family Fun Night

Family Fun Night! Grab the popcorn, a movie or a boardgame. Plan pizza or another fast healthy meal like tacos for supper and have some family fun with the kids.

Yeah, I know teenagers like to go out on Friday nights with their friends. Make a rule that they cannot miss two Family Fun Nights in a row, so you'll get to enjoy time with them as well, but they'll be able to pick which Friday they want, in case of a school dance or a sleepover they want to attend.

If your children are very young, starting now will be easy to make it a family ritual. Put in some music and dance with them, or do a craft, play with play dough (yes, dads too!), and enjoy their smiles and laughter, they grow SO fast!

Use your digital camera to snap moments of your Family Fun Nights and then scrap book them, so you'll be able to look back on your fun through the years.

If your kids are older, and they balk at the idea, make it fun for them - let them chose the game (video game playoffs, then crowning the champion with a homemade tinfoil crown can be fun). Let them know how important it is to you, they might think it is "uncool", but they will like it, too, even if they don't admit it to you or their friends. Don't give up just because they complain on the outside. It is an unwritten rule for teenage years that they must complain about everything their parents do!

Take the whole family bowling - it is a great game for all ages and skill levels. Let the little ones roll their balls sitting down from between their legs. Keep score, or not, but just have fun. Then go out for frozen yogurt, or to a park.

Tell us about your Family Fun Night!

Saturday is Date Night

Saturday Is Date Night for you and your spouse.

You can get ideas and read more about getting that closeness back in the Relationship Section of the site.

Make Saturday, during the day, a time to visit extended family, a day the kids can plan fun with their friends etc. The day your hubby can enjoy his alone time in the garage, etc. If you can get your older kids to go to grandparents for the night, or a sleepover at a friends, that will make date night even better for you both.

Sunday is Review and Renew Day

Sunday is a day to review your week. Look over how the week went. How did the kids behave, were you rushed or stressed, does your weekly plan need adjusting to maximize efficiency and lessen stress in the house? Don't spend a lot of time worrying about what you didn't get finished on your list. You're looking to see how you and the family felt emotionally. Are your CleanHome routines helping to lessen the stress? Are there some that are not effective? Could they be tweaked to make it more effective? Perhaps planning to share or look for some helpful ideas at tomorrow's Motivational Monday CleanHome meeting would be beneficial?

Prepare for the week with a 10 minute sweep of the car, and get bookbags, library books, and such ready to start your week. Have a quick family meeting to go over events coming up for the week, things that need to be prepared for those events.

Now, renew yourself today, to be ready and stress free for the week ahead. Relax and enjoy coffee and the newspaper on the front porch. Take a bath, do some Yoga, or read a book. Perhaps you go to a Church, Temple, or Synagogue for a spiritual renewal on Sundays. Enjoy your Sunday as a day to renew your spirit.
